Early Learning Fund's Raising A Reader program is an award-winning book bag program that benefits families with children ages birth to 5.
Over 6,000 literary-acclaimed books are kept in constant rotation into the homes of 1,600 local children. Children bring home these beautiful age-appropriate books, four per week, in bright red book bags. Appealing artwork, lyrical language and multicultural themes, compel children to draw their families into reading these books aloud.
The program is implemented through a variety of preschools and child care settings via a ready-to-use Classroom Kit. The unique design and delivery system makes this program easy and enjoyable even for busy, stressed or limited-literacy families.
